After generations passed, people began worshipping idols. Allah sent Prophet Nuh to invite his people back to tawhid. But they refused. For 950 years Prophet Nuh preached — day and night, secretly and openly. Only a few believed. Even his wife and one son refused.
Finally Allah commanded Prophet Nuh to build a great ark. His people mocked: "An ark in the middle of dry land?" But Prophet Nuh kept building.
Then came the great flood. Water burst from the earth and fell from the sky. Prophet Nuh called his family and the believers. His unbelieving son refused to board, saying: "I'll climb a high mountain." Prophet Nuh called him, but he refused. His son drowned.
After the water receded, Prophet Nuh's ark rested on Mount Judi. From Prophet Nuh and his followers, the earth was repopulated with believers.
For children: Prophet Nuh's preaching didn't succeed quickly. But he never gave up. Results are in Allah's hands, effort is in ours.
