Prophet Idris was a descendant of Prophet Adam, living centuries after Adam passed away. Allah gave him much knowledge: he was the first to learn to write with a pen, the first to sew clothing, and the first to study astronomy.
Allah praised Idris in the Qur'an: "He was a truthful one, and a prophet" (Maryam: 56). Idris constantly remembered Allah, worshipped, and spread the message of tawhid in his era.
Because of his lofty rank with Allah, Allah said: "And We raised him to a high station" (Maryam: 57). Scholars differ on the meaning of "raised" — some say Allah raised his soul to the fourth heaven, others say it means a high spiritual rank.
What's clear: Prophet Idris's knowledge and worship made him honored with Allah. For children: those who diligently learn and worship are exalted — not in human eyes, but in Allah's.
