Baby Mo keeps watch over a feverish Baby Ais

Baby Ais ran a fever and was fussy. The surprise: Baby Mo refused to leave her side.
Baby Ais had a fever all night, fussy, unable to sleep. What Umi didn't expect: Baby Mo wouldn't stay away from his sister. He brought his teddy, placed it beside Baby Ais, then sat keeping watch.
They're twins; the bond is different. But seeing Baby Mo — who usually fights with Ais over toys — suddenly that gentle, reminded Umi: beneath all the squabbling is a deep love they don't yet have a name for.
Umi stroked Baby Ais's forehead while reading the du'a for the sick. Baby Mo watched, then copied, stroking with his own hand. Empathy is contagious, even from parent to child to sibling in one night.
Allah has not sent down a disease without also sending down its cure.
By morning her fever broke. Baby Mo was still asleep on his side, facing his sister. Umi looked at them both and quietly gave thanks: they have each other.
