When Prophet Daud was young, the Children of Israel fought against Jalut's people. Jalut's army had a giant named Jalut (Goliath) — huge and terrifying. No one dared to face him.
Young Daud stepped forward. With a sling and one small stone, he aimed at Jalut's forehead. Allah guided the stone exactly to his head. The giant Jalut fell. The enemy army fled.
After this, Daud was made king of the Children of Israel. Allah gave him many gifts: a beautiful voice — when he recited the Zabur, mountains and birds glorified Allah with him. Allah also softened iron in his hands — Daud could shape armor like shaping clay.
What's special: though king, Daud ate from his own labor. Every day he made armor and sold it. That's a lesson from Allah: honest work is more honorable than living off state benefits.
Daud was also very just in judging cases. But once he judged too quickly without hearing both sides. Allah corrected him through a test — and Daud immediately repented.
For children: the greatest strength isn't body size. Little Daud defeated a giant because Allah was with him.
