The magic word: please

Baby Ais pointed and whined for something. Umi taught one word that changed everything.
Baby Ais wanted a biscuit on the table. Her method: pointing and whining "eh, eh!" louder and louder. Umi didn't hand it over right away — not out of stinginess, but because whining mustn't become the way to get things.
I crouched and taught: "Say 'please', love." I demonstrated a soft voice. Baby Ais tried: "pwease." The moment that word came out, Umi handed her the biscuit with a big smile. She learned: a kind word opens more doors than crying.
The manner of asking politely is the earliest social provision. A child who learns "please" and "thank you" young grows into someone easy to love. Not because it's manipulative — but because respect is contagious.
Whoever does not show mercy to people, Allah will not show mercy to him.
Now "pwease" is her favourite word, used for everything. And Umi happily grants it — because what she asks for kindly deserves a kind reply.
