Prophet Yahya was born from his father Prophet Zakariya's long du'a. From childhood, Yahya was extraordinary — Allah gave him wisdom from a young age.
Allah said about Yahya: "O Yahya, take hold of the Scripture with strength." Allah granted him wisdom while he was still a child. He honored both his parents. And he was never arrogant or disobedient.
Yahya lived simply. He never married. He fasted and prayed often. He often went into the wilderness to worship alone. When people came to the Jordan river to be washed (in repentance), Yahya guided them.
What's special about Yahya: scholars count him among the prophets who never committed a sin in his entire life — not even a small one. That is an exceptionally high honor.
Yahya eventually died as a martyr — killed by a tyrant king after Yahya rebuked him for wanting to marry someone forbidden to him.
For children: live simply, not arrogantly, honor your parents, and stand firm for truth — that's a summary of Prophet Yahya's life.
