Sarah, Prophet Ibrahim's wife, was elderly — around 90 — and had never had a child. One day angels came as guests to Ibrahim's home and brought news: "Sarah will have a son, Ishaq, and from Ishaq will come Ya'qub."
Sarah laughed in surprise: "I am an old woman and my husband is also old. How is this possible?" The angels replied: "Are you amazed at Allah's affair? It is the mercy and blessing of Allah."
Some time later, Sarah conceived. Prophet Ishaq was born, the promised child. Allah blessed Ishaq and his descendants. Ishaq became a prophet in Palestine, living alongside his brother Ismail in Makkah.
From Ishaq came Prophet Ya'qub, also called Israel. From Ya'qub came 12 sons, whose descendants are called the Children of Israel. From them came many prophets: Musa, Daud, Sulaiman, Zakariya, Yahya, up to Prophet Isa.
For children: nothing is impossible for Allah. A long-awaited child, a closed door of sustenance, a path out that seems lost — Allah can open any of them at any moment.
