Dua When Afraid or Anxious

A short phrase of reliance on Allah — read by a child when afraid, anxious, or facing something hard.

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

Transliteration

Hasbunallaahu wa ni'mal-wakiil

Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

Prophet Yunus's dua from inside the whale. Read by a child when sad, afraid, or facing difficulty.

أُعِيذُكُمَا بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ، مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ

Recited by parents over their children — often read before sleep or before the child leaves home. The Prophet ﷺ recited this for Hasan and Husain.
