Jumada al-Akhir is the sixth month of the Hijri calendar. By many narrations, this month saw the passing of Abu Bakr As-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) — the closest and most loyal Companion of the Prophet ﷺ.
The loyal friend
Abu Bakr was the first adult man to believe. He accompanied the Prophet ﷺ on the migration, hid with him in the Cave of Thawr, and always affirmed him — earning the title "As-Siddiq" (the truthful, the affirmer). Allah mentions that moment in the cave in Qur'an, At-Tawbah: 40.
Lessons for children
- Loyalty. A true friend is there in ease and hardship alike.
- Honesty. Always telling the truth makes people trust us.
- Gentleness & generosity. Abu Bakr was known for his tender heart and love of helping.
Help your child practice
Ask: "How can you be a good friend today?" Perhaps by sharing a snack, sitting with a sad friend, or keeping a promise. Tell this through Baby Mo stories about friendship too.
